GROWING THE FUTURE:
COMPEER’S COMMITMENT TO YOUTH IN AGRICULTURE
Enhancing Opportunities
At Compeer Financial, we’re committed to empowering youth in agriculture because we believe advocating for rural youth is just as crucial as supporting today's farmers. One way we champion youth in ag is through our County Fair Facility Grant.
More than fun summer traditions, county fairs are where young people involved in FFA, 4-H and other ag-based programs develop lifelong skills. Since launching the grant program, Compeer has helped transform outdated, under-resourced fair facilities into safe, functional and inspiring spaces better serving today’s youth.
In 2025, a total of $242,000 was awarded to deserving county fair organizations from across our three-state territory, impacting rural communities in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
For us, investing in our young people is more than just providing financial support. It’s about planting seeds for the next generation of vibrant rural leaders.

Mercer County Ag Society | Illinois
The Swine Barn is one of the busiest livestock buildings at the Mercer County Fair, but outdated speakers made announcements difficult to hear. With our grant, they installed a new sound system to improve the experience for youth participants and attendees alike.
“Thank you for all you do for the local county fairs. A new system will greatly benefit the fairgrounds by providing a positive show experience for all.”
— Mercer County Ag Society, Illinois
Mower County Fair | Minnesota
When safety concerns arose at the Crane Pavilion Livestock Arena, fair organizers applied for a grant to install handrails and improve accessibility. The result is a safer, more welcoming space for education and community gatherings.
“This investment reflects our commitment to serving the needs of our community and ensuring the fairgrounds remain a vibrant hub for agricultural education, entertainment and community engagement now and in the future.”
— Mower County Fair, Minnesota
Lodi Agricultural Fair | Wisconsin
To improve safety and streamline operations, Lodi Agricultural Fair used our grant to expand Wi-Fi across the fairgrounds. Now, board members and first responders can communicate more easily, while volunteers work more efficiently.
"Your grants help us keep improving the safety of our fairgrounds and provide an engaging community event for all ages to learn about agriculture!”
— Lodi Agricultural Fair, Wisconsin
