At Compeer Financial, we’re committed to empowering youth in agriculture because we believe advocating for rural youth is just as crucial as supporting today's farmers.
Our high school senior scholarships program helps make higher education accessible and removes financial barriers with our $1,500 scholarship, enabling more young aspiring agricultural professionals to achieve their dreams.
For us, investing in our young people isn’t just about funding their education. It’s about planting seeds for the next generation of vibrant rural community leaders.
Already, our scholarship recipients are making an impact. Meet Samantha Bohm, now a beginning farmer, and Luke Lovgren, a Compeer team member.

Raised on a crop farm, Samantha Bohm grew up with agriculture, but her interest in farming didn’t sprout until her high school years. Among the 2020 scholarship winners, Samantha continued her education at Black Hawk College in Galva, Illinois, where she received her associates degrees in ag business and ag production. Today she is a client, utilizing our financial services to acquire her home and support her own farming operation. With Compeer, Samantha carries on the legacy of her family’s farm.
“I get the chance to actually plant myself, harvest myself and work at everything. It feels good making my dad proud by helping take over.”

Combine rides with his grandpa solidified Luke Lovgren’s passion for agriculture as a child. As one of the 2019 winners, Luke used his scholarship to pursue his studies at Illinois State University where he got his bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agribusiness and agronomy management. Through connections made at his college career fair, he learned of an opening at Compeer. Three years later, Luke is still a valued member of the team, proudly serving his community as an insurance officer.
“Compeer has supported me in going to college and completing my degree. Now that I’m an employee, married and expecting a child, they’re here for me as I begin to raise a family.”
Applications are accepted from January 1 – March 15, 2025.
