Wisconsin’s Food + Farm Exploration Center aims to bridge the gap between consumers and ag with hands-on immersive agricultural experiences and education. Compeer’s Fund for Rural America’s support helps the Center leave a lasting impact.

We support agricultural opportunities wherever we find them, like when the Gary Comer Youth Center in Chicago hosted the inaugural career development event for urban agriculture and food production, filling a void in the state curriculum.

Textbooks are valuable to the learning process, but when training for a career in agriculture, nothing can replace real-life experience. We provide grants to help agricultural programs purchase equipment to help students grow in the classroom.

Ensuring first responders have access to essential equipment and tools changes – and possibly saves – lives, so we provide Emergency Response Equipment Grants to local volunteer fire, rescue and ambulance departments to make a difference.
“It’s gotten harder in rural communities to staff emergency response vehicles, especially ambulances. This grant helped neighboring communities pool resources to get a much-needed set of tools, allowing volunteers to help faster.” – Bruce Vander Veen, volunteer firefighter

We work hard to identify and invest in opportunities that improve life for the rural residents and communities where we all live, giving back through thick and thin.
Our scholarships for high school seniors awards $1,500 scholarships to students to help the future leaders of agriculture and rural America continue their education.
When rural communities thrive, agriculture does too. So we are here for you and your community, actively investing funding and volunteer hours on every corner.
